Instructional Materials
The Los Lunas Schools Board of Education has adopted rigorous performance targets for all schools and has targeted sub-groups of the student population for curricular and instructional interventions. In many cases technology-based solutions are being adopted by the district and by schools as interventions for students who are performing below grade level. Among these solutions is READ 180, a nationally-validated reading program for below-grade level readers in grades 4 through 9. Early results with the implementation of this program at a variety of school sites has shown much promise.
Investigative style lessons and differentiated software to apply the investigation (Carnegie Learning Algebra I) is currently being offered in 7th -10th grades. We would like to continue this Algebra I course and also implement Carnegie Learning Bridge to Algebra.
