STATE REPORTING/STUDENT INFORMATION SYSTEM

The State of New Mexico has recently implemented a new data reporting system, the Student-Teacher Accountability Reporting System (STARS), which, while it has the promise of providing significant long term data on student growth and program effectiveness, has significantly increased the amount of information which must be sent to the Public Education Department. It has also greatly increased time needed to gather and submit the information.
