The purpose of this site is to provide all interested parties, including parents, students, school administrators, and staff with a brief and factual reference to our special education program. However, like the New Mexico Public Education Department, Los Lunas Schools has adopted the Three-Tiered Model of Student Intervention. We believe that a clear understanding of this model is requisite to the presentation of information about the special education program. As such, we have included a brief description of this model prior to the special education program information.

Throughout this site, references are made to specific technical assistance and guidance documents issued by the New Mexico Public Education Department (PED). The technical assistance and guidance documents can be found in the Publication Library pages of the Special Education Bureau (SEB) website http://www.ped.state.nm.us/seo/and are also available for viewing in the office of the director of special education at Los Lunas Public Schools.
