Mission

  • We provide young adults, between the ages of 18 and 21, the opportunity to learn life skills through educational experiences in their community
  • We also strive to improve their ability to function inderdependently in society to their maximum potential

Goals

  • Assistance in establishing future goals
  • Assistance in secondary education
  • Assistance in job training and independent living
  • Opportunities in finding and maintaining employment
  • Connections to support agencies
  • Opportunities to explore recreation and leisure activities
  • Awareness in health and emotional habits

Requirements

  • Completed a special education program
  • 18-21 years old
  • Be willing to TACL the challenges involved in seeking a fullfilling adult life with the TACL Program for a minimum of one year
  • Family commitment to help the student to succeed
  • Student must have the ability to supervise themselves independently or with assistance
  • Students will perform job duties at TACL

Is This Program for You?

  • Students must be between the ages of 18 to 21
  • A transition plan from your high school is required
  • A student should have 23 credits upon entering TACL
  • Students can go through graduation ceremony and receive a diploma after their successful completion of their IEP goald with TACL
  • A full day placement is not provided with TACL
  • Students need to be referred to TACL through and IEP
  • Students and parents need to demonstrate a certain level of commitment by attending profile meetings and work with TACL
  • Students must be willing to TACL the challenges and risks involved in seeking fulfilling adult life
