Graduation is both a time of importance and celebration! Keeping this in mind, the information below was designed to help you plan accordingly to make the most of this special occasion. If you have any questions, please feel free to call Pam David, Activities Director, at 865-4646, ext 252.
GRADUATION 2008 INFORMATION
Senior Dues
A. Senior dues are being collected by the Class of 2008. Dues are $40.00. Dues pay for the senior farewell party, senior flowers and to purchase the Senior gift to the school.
B. Dues must be paid by May 1 to Ms. Gail Ranshaw.
Senior Awards Form
These forms are due to Ms. Saiz by no later than 2:30pm. May 1, 2008.
Forms not turned in by this date will not be listed in the senior
Awards program or the Graduation program.
Senior Finals
Senior Finals will be May 12 and May 13. Attendance is required both days.
Senior Check Out Day
A. Senior Check out day will be May 14,2008 from 7:30am-11:30a.m.
B. All fines must be paid by this date. NO CHECKS ACCEPTED
C. Sign-out with each teacher, book clerk, bookkeeper, and Administrator.
Robing and Senior Awards Ceremony Practice (MANDATORY)
A. Practice will be held from 12:30-2:15pm in the gym on May 14, 2008.
B. Orange graduation stoles and NHS items will be given out at this practice.
C. Graduation Tickets and parking passes will be given out at this practice.
Senior Robing and Awards Ceremony (MANDATORY)
A. May 15, at 6:30pm at LLHS Gym.
B. Graduates must report at 5:45pm.
C. Seniors will pick one person to robe them. This person must be seated in the graduate’s assigned chair by no later than 6:00p.m.
D. The person selected to robe will place the cap, gown, and stole on their senior.
E. Person selected to robe must be a parent, grandparent, guardian, sibling or teacher.
Graduation Practice (MANDATORY)
A. May 16, 2008 at 8:30am. All graduates are to report to the LLHS gym.
B. Seniors who do not attend practice will not walk the graduation line.
C. If students are late to practice, they will be seated in the back of the line. Graduates must be on time to practice.
D. Graduates should bring sun screen and hats as well as water to practice. We will run through the entire graduation ceremony to ensure the correct announcing of names.
E. Graduates should park at the swimming pool parking area and walk up to the gym for this practice.
Graduation Senior Celebration (Optional)
A. May 16, 2007 after practice the senior celebration will held at the LLHS football practice field located west of the field house.
B. Students not attending the Celebration are to leave campus immediately following
Graduation practice.
C. All Graduates must be off campus by no later than 2:15p.m.
D. All participants and parents must sign the code of conduct agreement.(Attached)
Graduation
A. Graduation will be held May 17, 2008 at 9:00am at Willie Chavez Stadium.
B. Graduates must report to the LLHS gym by no later than 7:30am with their Graduation cap and gown.
C. Graduates late will be seated at the back of the line.
Dress Code
A. Boys should wear dress pants, dress shirt with collar, tie, dress shoes and socks.
B. Girls should wear dress or skirts no longer than graduation gown, or a nice pant suit. Everyone should wear dress shoes.
C. Cap will be worn and pulled down on the forehead just over the eyebrows. They should not be perched on back or top of head.
D. Absolutely no tennis shoes, flip flops or blue jeans will be allowed.
E. Gowns will be zipped all the way up.
Behavior
A. No alcohol or drugs!! Anyone caught with or under the influence of these
substances will not be allowed to go through the graduation ceremonies. LLHS
Administrators and Teachers will be checking graduates prior to the ceremony.
B. The LLHS Student Behavior Handbook will be in effect.
