Examples are Police, Mail persons, PNM employees, or approved neighbor’s houses. Always ask permission of those trusted home owners before hand, and make sure that they have your parents contact information.
- Know your name and the name of your parents with phone number, and always keep your school’s information somewhere in your back pack.

Weapon Safety
- If you know somebody with a weapon, or is claiming to have a weapon, tell your bus driver, teacher, parents, counselor, any trustworthy adult, or log onto the Campus Crime Stoppers program to report the matter. A weapon is anything that could be used to harm another, or has been threatened to be used on somebody. If your not sure, tell somebody anyway and let them determine if it’s a weapon.
- If you hear kids talking about a weapon, a fight, a bully, vandalism drugs, or anything illegal, also let somebody know, or report it to The Campus Crime Stoppers program. While in school there is no such thing as a harmless weapon, or fake. If it looks real then it’s real.

Walking or Biking safely to school
- Use the buddy system when walking to and from school. Always stay with friends, parents, or other family members. Larger groups are always safer, and much more of a deterrent from harm
- Stay away from strangers, and especially from strangers in vehicles. If approached by a stranger, walk or run the other way and draw attention from anybody. If you don’t know the person, they are a stranger!!!!!!!!
- Never take short cuts through fields, ditches, construction sites, and always let somebody know if you see something that is not right. If you don’t think it’s right, then it’s probably not.
- When crossing the street, always use the crossing guard when available, and always cross at intersections. Never run into the street without looking both, and never cross the street from parked cars.
- If riding a bike, always use a helmet and always use the buddy system. Obey all traffic rules, and stay off the roadway. When crossing your bike always walk it across the street, then resume after.
