K-8 Summer School Program
2008
GENERAL INFORMATION

The program is offered to all children enrolled Kindergarten through 8 th grade in September, 2007. All students with an Academic Improvement Plan on May 15, 2008, should be registered according to the grade they have just completed.

LOCATION : All classes will be held at the student’s home school or as close to their home school as possible.

DATE/TIME : Summer School programs will be held Monday through Friday. The program runs for three weeks beginning Monday, June 9th and ending Friday, June 27 th.

REGISTRATION : Registration forms will be sent home with your child on April 7th. Please fill them out completely and return them to your child’s school no later than April 17, 2008.

PARKING : Please obey all parking signs. Do not park in the emergency area in front of the school.

 PROGRAM NURSE : Please detail health concerns on your registration form. Epi-pens and other emergency medications MUST be left in the nurse’s office and be accompanied by a doctor’s note before the child will be permitted to attend classes. NO EXCEPTIONS!

ALLERGY-FREE CLASSES : Please contact a chairperson for a list of classes designated “allergy-free”. (i.e. no nuts, dairy, eggs, chocolate, etc. utilized in the class).

FIRE DRILLS : Students may experience a fire drill.

Transportation/Drop Off/Pick Up

Bus Route & Bus #: See bus schedule below. If you have any questions you may contact Transportation at 866-2147.

 Drop Off: Parents may walk their K-4 children to their classrooms on Monday, June 9 and Tuesday, June 10 for drop off. After these two days, students should enter through the main entrance and proceed to the cafeteria for breakfast. Kindergarten students will have a teacher waiting for them in the cafeteria to bring them back to class each morning.

Pick Up : Students must be picked up promptly. Kindergarten and first grade students will be dismissed to directly to their parents from the cafeteria.

 **Students must attend all 15 days of summer school in order to receive the maximum learning benefit. Students that miss more than one day will be dropped from the program immediately!
