State Regulations on Transporting of Students

As we are all aware, fuel costs across the nation have incurred a great impact on school transportation. To accommodate and continue transportation in our school district through the 2008-2009 school year, it has become necessary to condense routes and transport at full capacity. The district Route Specialist is currently surveying all routes in our school district and will continue to do so throughout the school year ensuring that all bus routes are established upon the basis of safety, efficiency and need. Routes may be subject to change. Bus routes have been scheduled in accordance with NM State Statutes on Pupil Transportation 6.41.4 NMAC. To ensure that walkways are adequate, we are asking the road departments in our area to assist us in clearing brush and trees that are hindering a walking path for students.
