Unless otherwise announced, Finance Committee Meetings are held at 4:00 pm on the Tuesday prior to the last board meeting of the month and are held in the superintendent's conference room.

FRANK A. OTERO	BOARD PRESIDENT

Mr Otero is a lifelong resident of Valencia County and our great State of New Mexico. He attended classes in grades one through twelve within the Los Lunas School System beginning in first grade at Peralta Elementary until graduation with the Los Lunas High School Class of 1976. He attended the University of New Mexico part time as a business management major while working full time for the New Mexico Health Department. Prior to his retirement of twenty-seven years of service at the end of 2003, Frank served fourteen years as a facilities operations manager. He is married to his wife of thirty years, Evelyn, and has two daughters, Victoria and Valerie, and four grandchildren, Serena, Phillip, Aiden, and Gavin. He is currently a sales consultant for a local home interior business.

MARIA M. MAREZ	BOARD VICE PRESIDENT

Ms. Marez, a 1989 LLHS graduate, is married and has two sons. She earned her BBA and MBA at NMHU. She is a former intern for the USDA in Washington, DC for the Office of Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, as well a student recruiter. Ms. Marez coached volleyball and softball at the high school level and coached youth sports. She is currently a mortgage broker and the owner of Valencia Consulting Group (VCG) a company focusing on Financial & Educational Services. Mrs. Marez also volunteers with several other clubs and organizations in the community.

CHRISTOPHER D. MARTINEZ	BOARD SECRETARY

Mr. Martinez was born in Valencia County in 1959 to Billy and Esther Martinez of San Fernandez.He is the oldest son in a family of four boys and is a 1977 graduate of Los Lunas High School. He spent four years in the US Navy, two and a half years as Coxwain of an assault boat. He made two tours of the Far East and was released with an honorable discharge in 1981, after which he attended TVI on the G.I. bill for Commercial Printing. He has spent the past twenty six years in the printing industry in Albuquerque, twelve of which have been running his own company. He is married to Tracy Pearson who was raised in Santa Fe. They have three sons; Dana is a senior at Los Lunas High School and Russell & Clayton, who are twins, are sophomores at Valencia High School.

ART CASTILLO	BOARD MEMBER

Mr. Castillo was elected to his first term on the Los Lunas Board of Education in February 2001. His family resides in Los Lunas. Mr. Castillo is retired from the Los Lunas Schools. His wife Toni is employed by the Los Lunas Schools as a secretary at Special Services. They have two sons Chris, 26 and Carlos, 21. Besides being on the Board of Education, Mr. Castillo owns two consulting firms.

ED HERNANDEZ	BOARD MEMBER

Mr. Hernandez was born and raised in Valencia County. He attended Los Lunas Schools from 1966 to 1978. He graduated from Los Lunas High School in 1978. He graduated from the University of Albuquerque in 1982 with a degree in Business Administration (cum laude). He is married to Cora McDaniel Hernandez, a 1979 graduate of Los Lunas High School.They have three children; Nicole 25, Edward Jr., 20, a sophmore at Arizona State University, and Ryan, 12 , a seventh grader at Manzano Vista Middle School; and one 11 month old grandson, Elisha Emilian Romero. He is currently the Southwest General Manager for Mitel, a global voice and data communications provider, which is based in Phoenix, AZ.
