Los Lunas Schools implemented Remote Learning on March 16th, 2020 in accordance with Governor Lujan Grisham's directive to close K-12 public schools through April 3rd, 2020.  On March 27th, 2020, the Public Education Department directed all schools to be closed for the remainder of the school year.  Los Lunas Schools will continue to provide remote learning, also known as continuous learning, through the remainder of the school year.  Teachers are delivering lessons online, designating office hours to support students, and connecting virtually with students through video conferencing, telephone calls, and email.  In addition, educators and administrators are collaborating in professional learning communities via video conferencing to support high levels of learning for their students.  Weekly technology webinars are being offered by our EdTech digital learning coaches and LLS teachers to support ongoing professional development.

Our district teachers and/or administrators have made every effort to contact all parents to determine if students have a device and/or internet to access remote learning.  All of our high school and middle school students are part of a one-to-one academic environment.  For the elementary students that do not have access to a device, our schools are checking out iPads for student use.

Our district understands that all students may not have access to internet in their homes.  Los Lunas Schools has purchased Wi-Fi hot spots that have been installed in  buildings in our neighborhoods where there is limited internet connection.  Those locations are:  Isleta Pueblo Dept. of Education, Meadow Lake Fire Station 4, El Cerro Mission Fire Station 10, and Tomé Dominguez Community Center.  The Wi-Fi Network is LLS Hotspot and the password is studentwifi.  For additional information regarding internet access during the school closure, visit the Los Lunas Schools Recent News/Internet Access During School Closure.

This website contains numerous resources for our teachers, our students, and our community regarding remote learning.  Los Lunas Schools understands that resources are not limited to student's education; therefore, we have resources to support our students social emotional well-being during this unprecedented time.
