Los Lunas Schools offers our students a large variety of extracurricular activities. Students can participate in a number of sports at the secondary level. Middle and high school sports are members of the New Mexico Activities Association. Los Lunas High School and Valencia High School have earned many state championships since their originations. Our student athletes strive to excel in the classroom, field, court, track and course. Many of our students have earned scholarships to participate in sports at the collegiate level. Sports offer our students athletes benefits such as physical health, social interaction, relationship building, personal development, academic performance, and community engagement.

Extracurricular clubs and organizations are also offered in our district. After school clubs such as archery, chess, student council, and robotics are offered at our school sites. Students are encouraged to participate in extracurricular activities and our district strives to offer many options to meet student’s needs and interests. In the last four years, the number of after school clubs increased dramatically. Los Lunas Schools is also in the process of providing new clubs such as eSports. Extracurricular activities offer our students a range of benefits including skill development, time management, social interaction, relationship building, and college and career readiness.
