Child Find

Los Lunas Schools' Child Find offers screening and evaluations for preschool aged children who are suspected of having a delay or impairment in one or more of the following areas:

• Concepts/Cognitive Development
• Hearing
• Language
• Motor Skills
• Self-Help Skills
• Speech
• Vision

Any parent/guardian who has concerns about the development of his/her child is encouraged to call (505) 866-2440 to make an appointment for a screening. Screenings occur every Wednesday from 8:30-12:00 during the school year. If a child fails the screening in one or more of the areas listed above, our Child Find Team will schedule a more comprehensive assessment. Prior to completing a formal evaluation (not a screening) the following is necessary:

1. Original birth certificate
2. Shot records
3. Proof of residency (must live within the Los Lunas Schools boundaries)
4. Driver's license

Legal guardians must be present to sign consent for developmental screenings and formal evaluations.
